1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Boring Shows ("we," "our," or "us") handles information when you use our website, mobile application, event-ticketing features, Boring Dramas streaming features, and related support services (together, the "Platform").
2. Information We Handle
- Account and profile data: name, email address, phone number, authentication identifiers, profile photo, city, and preferences you provide.
- Event and transaction data: bookings, tickets, saved events, order amounts, refund requests, and payment transaction identifiers and status. Payment processing is handled by an external payment processor; we do not receive your full card or UPI credentials.
- Drama data: titles you show interest in, access or entitlement records, and viewing progress such as the series, episode, playback position, duration, and completion status.
- Content you provide: profile images, reels, reviews, messages, support requests, and other material you choose to submit. Content intended for social features may be visible to other users.
- Device and service data: IP address, browser or device type, operating system, app version, security and service logs, notification tokens, and records needed to diagnose failures or prevent abuse.
- Permission-based data: approximate or precise location, camera, microphone, photo library, and notifications only when you choose to grant the relevant device permission and use that feature.
3. How We Use Information
- Create and secure accounts and maintain your signed-in session.
- Process event bookings, issue tickets, evaluate refund requests, and provide customer support.
- Provide Drama catalogue access, enforce access controls, deliver streams, and remember viewing progress.
- Send service messages, booking updates, reminders, and notifications you have enabled.
- Operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the Platform; detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Meet legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, and regulatory obligations.
4. Service Providers and Sharing
We disclose only the information reasonably needed to the following categories of providers and recipients:
- Technology service providers: account access, service records, user-submitted content, and delivery of requested features.
- External payment processor: event-ticket payments, payment status, and approved refunds.
- Notification and communications providers: sign-in codes, receipts, support messages, booking updates, and enabled app notifications.
- Event organizers: booking and attendee information needed to operate the event and validate entry.
- Legal or safety disclosures: when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the Platform, or another person.
We do not sell personal information to third parties for their marketing.
5. Drama Streaming
Drama content is made available only after required account and access checks. The app records viewing progress so you can continue an episode. The current app provides streaming playback and does not provide an offline-download feature. We use safeguards designed to reduce unauthorized use, but no online service can be completely risk-free.
6. Retention and Account Deletion
We keep information only while it is needed to provide the Platform, secure accounts, resolve disputes, and meet legal or operational obligations. Different records may be retained for different periods. Transaction, ticket, tax, fraud-prevention, deletion-request, and dispute records may be retained after account deletion when required or permitted by law; they are restricted to those purposes.
You may request account deletion through our account deletion page or contact support@boringshows.com. We may need to verify that the request belongs to the account holder. Deletion is permanent once completed and does not require us to erase records that must lawfully be retained.
7. Your Choices
- Review or update profile information available in your account.
- Control location, camera, microphone, photo, and notification permissions in device settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law.
- Unsubscribe from optional communications using the method provided in the message.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information and content against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. No security measure can eliminate all risk, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Cookies and Device Permissions
The website may use cookies and similar technologies needed for account access, security, and preferences. Device permissions are requested in context and can be withdrawn in your device settings, although the related feature may then stop working.
10. Children
The Platform is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
11. International Processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where applicable, we use the provider and contractual protections required for that processing.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as the Platform changes. We will post the revised policy here and replace the effective date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the Platform when appropriate.
